After an early morning car or taxi drive to the domestic airport in Kathmandu, you will board the plane for an insane, scenic flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla.
After a refreshing cup of tea at Lukla, about 3 hours of walking brings you to Phakding village. This small, vibrant Sherpa settlement is situated beautifully at the bottom of high green mountains, right alongside the rushing Dudh Koshi River.

You will be surrounded by majestic snow-capped peaks almost immediately. Enjoy a highly scenic walk passing through traditional Sherpa villages and crossing high suspension bridges. The final, challenging uphill climb rewardingly brings you to the famous welcome gates of Namche Bazaar—the ultimate mountain amphitheater.

⚠️ Permit Check: Keep your trekking permits handy! You must show them at the army checkpoint before starting the final ridge climb.
