Namobuddha day hike include hike route of Dhulikhel - Namobuddha - Panauti, another popular hiking around Kathmandu Valley. Dhulikhel lies 35 km east of Kathmandu on Arniko Highway. From Dhulikhel one can enjoy a beautiful view of the lower valley that rises up to the Himalayan range which seems to be extend endlessly from east to west direction. Namobuddha is a Buddhist pilgrim site located 4 hours away from Dhulikhel. It is believed that Prince Siddhartha Gautam offered his flesh to a hungry tigeress and her cubs at the same place and was reborn as Lord Buddha.

Day 1

Dhulikhel to Namobuddha via Panauti - day hike

Hiking Duration: 7-8 hours

The hiking trail passes through beautiful scenery of green hills, pine forests, small villages and beautiful mountains. The hike from Dhulikhel - Namo Buddha - Panauti takes about 8 hours. From Dhulikhel we will walk gradually up to the summit of Namo Buddha, a peaceful monastery. You can see beautiful Thanka paintings and sculptures in the monastery.

We will be descending from Panuti, a medieval Newari Village, through the awe inspiring environ with oranges yard on the way. The village is a home to the only two known pre-17th century Mahadev (Lord Shiva) temple. You will see beautiful terraces filled with rice plant dancing in the wind and experience the typical culture of indigenous Newari people.

On reaching Banepa we will drive back to Kathmandu.
